Director: Greg Schick

"1984," adapted for the stage by Robert Owens, Wilton E. Hall, and William A. Miles Jr., is a dramatic version of George Orwell's dystopian novel. It depicts a totalitarian society, Oceania, where the Party, led by the omnipresent Big Brother, controls every aspect of life, including thought. The story centers on Winston Smith, a member of the Outer Party who rebels against the Party's control through acts of thoughtcrime and an illicit affair. Ultimately, Winston is captured, tortured, and re-educated, forced to renounce his beliefs and love for Julia, and embrace the Party's ideology.
