Disney's The Lion King, JR. is a musical about a young lion who flees after his uncle kills his father and takes the throne. Simba must find his inner strength and confront his uncle to reclaim his rightful place as king. Featuring classic songs from the Broadway musical and animated feature film, including “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King,” “He Lives in You,” and “Hakuna Matata,” the African savanna comes to life with Simba, Rafiki and an unforgettable cast of characters as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle and back again in this inspiring, coming-of-age tale.

This is a production-based class. All students who register for The Lion King Jr must be enrolled in at least one Firefly Theatrical class for the Fall 2025 semester (drama/acting, musical theatre, improv, or dance). Everyone who registers can participate regardless of experience level. We will hold workshops during the first few rehearsals where the students will learn songs and dances and read scenes. From these workshops, we will cast the show with roles appropriate to skill level and experience.
