Based on the popular comic strip and adapted from the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, with a beloved book and score by Tony Award winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, Annie JR. features everyone’s favorite little redhead in her very first adventure.

With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, finding a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

This is a production-based class. All students who register for Annie Jr must be enrolled in at least one Firefly Theatrical class for the Winter 2026 semester (drama/acting, musical theatre, improv, or dance). (If you have a financial or scheduling issue please contact us and we can work it out.) Everyone who registers can participate regardless of experience level. We will hold workshops during the first few rehearsals where the students will learn songs and dances and read scenes. From these workshops, we will cast the show with roles appropriate to skill level and experience.

Grades K-8th
Depending on the number of students registered, we may split this into two casts. Students K-4th would rehearse Wednesdays 4-6 pm (also may be broken into 4-5/5-6). Students 5th-8th would rehearse either Mondays or Tuesdays 6-8 pm plus Saturdays 4-6 pm.

Rehearsals: Nov 9, 2026 - Dec 19, 2026; Saturdays 4-6 pm, Mondays/Tuesdays 6-8 pm. (No rehearsals Nov 23-28)
Tech Week: Monday, Dec 14, 2026 - Thursday, Dec 17, 2026 - 6-8:30 pm every night
Performances: Dec 18 (7 pm), Dec 19 (3 pm and 7 pm), TBD: Dec 20 (3 pm)
Cost: K-4th grades $325; 5th-8th grades $550 (can be broken into payments)
