Firefly Classes Fall 2025

Our Fall 2025 classes will begin the week of August 18th, 2025. Classes are a ten week session with breaks following Cobb County Schools. We will hold classes on digital learning days.

Mondays, 4-5 pm - Junior Drama – Grades 3rd-5th - Instructor: Lillie Boring
In this creative drama class, students will use their actors’ toolbox (body, voice, and imagination) to weave stories, create characters, and discover new worlds through the power of imaginative play. Students will also learn the fundamentals of acting while discovering theatre skills that can be used for the rest of their lives! This ensemble based class is the perfect place for young actors to begin honing their skills while also having a ton of fun with friends. 

Mondays, 5-6 pm - Showstoppers – Grades 3rd-5th - Instructor: Lillie Boring
In this class, students will begin honing the skills necessary to become a true triple threat! They will work together as an ensemble to learn musical theatre repertoire and choreography, all while strengthening their acting and character work. This is the perfect class for any student interested in doing the musicals here at Firefly, because it gives them the opportunity to learn the skills necessary to successfully rehearse and perform a show as a singer/actor/dancer! 

Mondays, 6-7 pm - Musical Theater Dance Elementary – Grades 3rd-5th - Instructor: Eliza Yarbrough-Saxon
Dance classes are back at Firefly. Our fun dance classes focus on basic techniques used in musical theater. No experience necessary!

Mondays, 7-8 pm - Musical Theater Dance Intermediate – Grades 6th-12th - Instructor: Eliza Yarbrough-Saxon

Mondays, 8-9 pm - Musical Theater Dance Advanced – Grades 6th-12th - Instructor: Eliza Yarbrough-Saxon
The advanced dance class is by permission only. Please speak with Miss Eliza if you would like to be placed in this class. Students typically have at least two years of dance class experience to be placed in this class.

Tuesdays, 4-5 pm - Junior Drama – Grades K-2nd - Instructor: Lillie Boring
In this class our youngest actors will begin exploring and using their actors’ tools - their bodies, voices, and imaginations! They will use these skills along with creative drama to explore magical worlds, tell stories, create characters, and go on adventures of all kinds. This ensemble based class is the perfect starting point for any young artist interested in theatre and story telling.

Tuesdays, 5-6 pm - Stage Stars – Grades K-2nd - Instructor: Lillie Boring
In this class our youngest musical theatre actors will begin exploring the world of singing, acting, and dancing - all three at the same time! They will work together as an ensemble while learning musical theatre repertoire, choreography, and fundamental acting skills. This class is the perfect starting point for any young artist interested in musical theatre! 

Tuesdays, 8-9 pm - On Camera Acting - Grades 6th-12th - Instructor: Eliza Yarbrough-Saxon
Our On Camera Acting class returns! Students will learn actign skill specific for being filmed: whether tv, film, or self tape auditions!

Wednesdays, 4-6 pm - Performance Class: The Lion King Kids – Grades K-4th- Instructor: Greg Schick

A musical for our younger students! These students will learn music, blocking, and choreography for the ten week session and put on a musical at the end! Lion King Kids is based on the aminated movie and Broadway stage musical and features the Elton John wirrten hits eberyone knows! .

Wednesdays, 6-7 pm - Triple Threats (Middle School MT) - Grades 6th-8th - Instructor: Lillie Boring
Take your musical theatre training to the next level in this slightly more rigorous triple threat class! Students will work on musical theatre repertoire and choreography, strengthen their vocal skills, and hone their acting abilities. In addition to ensemble based performing, students will also delve into solo and monologue work, preparing them for auditions and shows in their future! 

Wednesdays, 7-8 pm - Acting Fundamentals – Grades 6th-12th - Instructor: Greg Schick
Students will delve into key aspects of acting, including voice, movement, improvisation and character development. Participants will learn essential techniques to express emotions authentically, develop believable characters, and effectively communicate narratives on stage and screen. Interactive exercises, scene study, and monologue work will form the core of the curriculum, offering students ample opportunity to explore and apply what they learn in a supportive and encouraging environment. Emphasis will be placed on developing a nuanced understanding of text analysis, emotional vulnerability, and the physicality required to inhabit diverse roles.

Thursdays, 8-9 pm - Improv – Grades 6th-12th - Instructor: KSU Improv Society
Led by skilled instructors, students will engage in a series of playful exercises and games that sharpen quick thinking, enhance collaboration, and foster fearless expression. Through improvisation, participants will learn to trust their instincts, embrace uncertainty, and unleash their comedic and dramatic talents in a supportive and lively atmosphere.

Fridays, 6-9 pm - Dungeons & Dragonflies - Grades 4th-12th - Instructors: Greg Schick, Claire Hintze
Our D&D club is back for a second semester! This time, get ready to level up to a ten week campaign! Students will learn the basics of character creation and then embark on a journey together that will take creativity, teamwork, and acting! The instructors will run two simultaneous campaigns each week: one for younger students and one for older. No experience necessary! This class has a limit of 12 students.


Cost: $200/class
